I have a son and daughter, 13 and 9, and I’ve been able to distract my 9 year old, but my 13 year old is completely hooked on the idea (of a phone) and I finally had to give into it since he started baseball and soccer – we have to keep in touch. I’m all ready with a prepaid cell phone company because of the price and the value so I finally agreed over the holidays to get him a phone. It might be too much to some but with tournaments and after school practice, I felt it was time to give him more reponsibility.
